Coach Mallett was a big mentor in my life in such a small time. He always had a smile on his face and made people laugh. He coached me tough so that I could give my best performance, and I respect him for that. He took a serious approach with everything he did and that rubbed off on me. I loved being around him and enjoyed every second of my time with him. He had a larger than life personality and made everyone in the room feel welcomed. I remember on every game day he would pull me out of class so we could watch some film together and he always had donuts for me.
This left a lasting impression on me. I knew he loved and deeply cared for me. I knew that when he was checking in on me, he was checking on my mental health as well as my physical health. We continued to keep in contact after he left Mountain Home. This relationship meant the world to me.
